Rare Lavender or Amethyst glass was made pre world war one. Glass is made from sand. It was difficult to separate the iron oxide from the sand 100+ years ago. This is why there is so much aqua sea glass because of the oxidization on metals in the sand. Then glass makers discovered manganese as a decolourized. However they never realized with solarization the glass would turn purple over time. The shade of purple can be very slight to a deep amethyst depending on the amount of sun exposure or manganese in the glass.
Sea glass is symbolic of renewal. A once beautiful object. Turned Trash, exploding in the sea. Then tumbled by the ocean for decades.
Sea glass is a reminder for when we feel broken that it is possible to transform into something even more beautiful then when we first start out.
